
Because of its position on the Mid Atlantic Ridge, Iceland experiences many earthquakes. Don't worry - most of them are quite minor!
However, you can track them as they occur by having a look at the website of the Icelandic Meteorological Office . Locations of earthquakes in Iceland in the last 48 hours are shown as circles on a map which is refreshed every two minutes. If you look at the map over a number of days, you will see that the earthquakes tend to occur in roughly the same part of Iceland. The reason for this will become clear once we are there!
